Comprehensive expertise in bearings and bearing shells

Precise inspections to assess the condition of parts

MOTEURS RL carries out dimensional, geometrical and babbitt adhesion inspections on its partners' bearings. These inspections assess the condition of components and help determine the next steps based on the technical constraints identified.

To do this, we use ultrasonic and dye penetrant testing to check white-metal bonding and the surface condition of parts. This inspection is an essential first step before repair, reconditioning or manufacture of new parts.

Reconditioning designed for urgent requirements

Depending on the bearing shell configuration, MOTEURS RL offers bearing repair to its customers to reduce lead times.

In accordance with the customer's technical specifications and requirements, MOTEURS RL can also perform ultrasonic adhesion testing to ensure the same quality as new parts.

MOTEURS RL can centrifugal-cast babbitt bearings up to Ø 1000 mm. We also specialise in static casting repairs for very large bearings.

Manufacturing and fitting for reliable performance

New bearing manufacture, monitored at every stage

Starting from a sample, MOTEURS RL carries out a dimensional and geometric inspection, then prepares a drawing to meet its customers’ technical requirements. This approach provides a reliable basis for manufacturing new bearings that meet the needs of the equipment concerned.

Material grades are determined in our laboratory through spectrometric analysis or mechanical testing. Drawing on our experience, we can also provide technical recommendations when needed. Material traceability is maintained throughout the manufacturing process, and in-process inspections help ensure the quality of the finished part.

On-site scraping and fitting for precise performance

On-site scraping and fitting allow bearings to be adapted to their actual operating conditions. This work aims to improve the contact surface and promote optimal lubrication, two factors that are crucial to the performance of rotating machinery.

Drawing on the expertise of our skilled professionals, we carry out these adjustments on site when required. This step usefully complements inspection, repair or manufacturing work, providing a finish suited to the assembly and operation of the mechanical system.

Production facilities and quality checks tailored to your needs

Workshops designed for the needs of industrial mechanics

MOTEURS RL is equipped with a boring machine, milling machines and parallel lathes. For complex, large-scale machining, we work with our partner LACMIL, a specialist in large-capacity machining.

The two companies are located in the same building, enabling them to respond more effectively to urgent requests. LACMIL has a 6,000 m² workshop with 12 overhead cranes with capacities of up to 20 tonnes. Its machine shop includes 3 CNC vertical lathes, 3 CNC horizontal lathes with C-axis, 3 large-capacity CNC boring mills and 1 gantry milling machine with a working envelope of 4,000 mm x 3,000 mm x 1,250 mm.

Quality at every stage of production

In accordance with our customers' technical specifications, we can produce test specimens to mechanically verify the strength of our products. We also test the adhesion of the bearing alloy using ultrasound in accordance with standard ISO 02 32 72 46 50, and verify surface integrity using dye penetrant testing in accordance with standard ISO 02 32 72 46 50.

Each bearing shell is supplied with a dimensional inspection report prepared in accordance with our internal procedures and using measuring instruments calibrated by a COFRAC-accredited laboratory. This rigorous approach ensures consistent quality monitoring in line with the demands of industrial environments.
